A Roller Mill becomes a Flaking Mill when it is required to flake grains for human consumption which are much thinner than animal feed. To achieve this the rolls must be pushed together with much greater force. And there are other important elements for the Flaking Mill. Breakfast cereal grains are cooked before flaking, in a syrup of malt flavouring with sugar and salt which makes them adhere to the rolls which requires specialist scrapers.
E R & F Turner were the first to use a computer-controlled system to maintain a consistent roll gap on a flaking mill and now use the latest touch screen technology and monitoring. The range of flaking mills includes 3 different roll diameters 460mm, 550mm & 600mm and these also come in various different widths to give a broad range of capacities.
Our most recent developments include a 600BCV2 Flaking mill with redesigned stainless covers for superb access for clean down procedures, improved anti vibration mounts while still keeping the well proven central rigid cast structure. We can include if required our brand new design Steam conditioner to complete the package.
