Recently promoted to Managing Director from the existing management team, Ian sits at the head of Christy Turner’s entirely UK manufacturing operation and oversees worldwide operations.

Ian’s background in precision engineering commenced with an apprenticeship with veteran engineering company, Ransome & Rapier in Ipswich, before he made the move to Turner Chilled Rolls as Production Manager with Precision Engineers, Manganese Bronze. Ian’s career with Christy Turner started with becoming Parts & Service Manager, before being promoted to General Manager. In 2021, this extensive experience and knowledge were harnessed with Ian making a natural ascension to become Managing Director of Christy Turner.

Ian’s experience between workshop, factory, client site and boardroom, together with an in-depth industry and knowledge of the company’s world class rolling mills, flaking mills, hammer mills and pulverizers make him a natural choice to lead a business that designs, manufactures, delivers and supports the entire range worldwide, recently securing a commission for a new Breakfast Cereal 600 Flaking Mill and steam conditioner for French horticulture supplies specialists, Adicer.

Working under the Christy Turner banner of ‘Building Relationships, Building Reliability’, Ian explains  “the history of our exclusively UK operation speaks for itself, but we are also committed to innovation and use our experience, expertise and engineering knowledge to produce a wide range of well-designed, robust machinery that usually outlives the career of its buyer. We provide first class customer support both before and after purchase and offer customers a variety of services, including a dedicated spare parts team along with skilled and experienced service engineers, to ensure that our machines continue to provide decades of reliability without missing a day’s work. The demands on these products are intense and constant. Our pre and post sales service also has to be up to the task

The constantly driven motivational and development side of Ian is something he extends into his home life: racking up 35 years as a Scout leader means his skills are put to excellent purpose in the community as well as the industry.
